Dan O’Neill

Dan O’Neill was born in Montréal during an intense spring blizzard. After working as a professional graphic designer and commercial illustrator through the 70s and 80s, he studied painting, drawing and printmaking at the Ontario College of Art and Design, graduating with honours in 1993. He earned a BFA (1994) and an MFA in Fine and Media Arts (1999) from NSCAD University, where he has been a regular part-time instructor since 1995. O’Neill’s ongoing contribution to contemporary art practice in Halifax was recognized in a solo exhibition, Viewer Discretion, at Saint Mary’s University Art Gallery, 2004.
