Return to search results Ann Newdigate: Ciphers from the Muniments RoomAnn Newdigate. Ciphers from the Muniments Room: Letter (detail) 1994. 26-inch x 22-foot digital printout, automobile paint on canvas. Mounted opposite Meta Textiles: Sewing the Second Skin, whose artists might be thought of as "writing with the needle," Newdigates digitized printout of a tapestry-woven shorthand letter brought textile media even further into the realm of textual practices. A distinguished tapestry artist who lives in Saskatoon, Newdigate often dissects patriarchal fallacies in her uncompromising work. The artist gave remarks at the joint opening of the two exhibitions.
