Return to search results Stitch by Aimée BrownAimée Brown, Stitch installation view 2009 Stitch is a work of contemporary art assembled from MSVU Art Gallery’s History as a publisher. The artist has tediously reconstructed catalogues to form scrolls, spirals and bricks that morph into an organic form that is in a continuous struggle with gravity. The process of reorganizing the catalogues into scrolls is a historical de-evolution of the book. The readable code of language mutates into a voluminous abstract form, although the content of the printed pages has not changed deciphering their content has become a daunting task. Exposed within the work are aesthetic patters and a pallet which is commonly used in the gallery’s publications. Identity consistency. Exhibition Image Click on the image to enlarge it. |
