Mathew Reichertz

Born and raised in Montréal, Mathew Reichertz received a BFA from Concordia University in 1993. In 1997 he moved to Halifax, graduating from NSCAD University’s MFA program in 1999. His work has been included in solo and group exhibitions across Canada, including Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Art Gallery, Cornerbrook; Khyber Centre for the Arts, Halifax; Ciparis/Lennox Gallery, Toronto; Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Fredericton; Galerie Action Art Actuel, St. Jean Sur Richelieu; and the 2005 RBC Canadian Painting Competition national touring exhibition. He has received creation and presentation grants from the province of Nova Scotia and his work is in several institutional collections, including a site-specific painting installed in the Sobey Building, Saint Mary’s University, in 2001. Reichertz lives in Halifax and teaches at NSCAD University.
