Claudia Mannion

attended l’Académie des Arts de Montréal, 1968-69; Holland College, PEI (Design) 1972-73; and Mount Allison University (Painting) 1999-2003. In 2001 she received Mount Allison’s John P. Asimakos Award in Painting.

Since leaving Mount Allison, she has exhibited regularly in solo and group shows.

Solo shows include: Leaving, Trinity Galleries, Saint John, NB, 2005; Away, Trinity Galleries, Saint John, NB, 2004; Non-Human Primate Behaviour, Struts Gallery, Sackville, NB, 2001; Landscape of the Mind, Struts Gallery, Sackville, NB, 2000.

Selected group exhibitions include: InsideOutOutsideIn, Cape Breton University Art Gallery, Sydney, NS, (curator Suzanne Crowdis), 2007; Art-in-a-Box, Westin Hotel, Halifax, NS, 2007; A Visual Feast, Stimuleye Gallery, Toronto, ON, 2004; Fresh Paint,Trinity Galleries, Saint John, NB, 2003; Bite Mark, Corridor Gallery, Visual Arts Nova Scotia, Halifax, NS 2002.

Her work has been selected to appear in the prestigious 2007 Marion McCain Art Exhibition at the Beaverbrook Gallery in Fredericton, NB and her paintings are represented in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank, Nova Scotia Art Bank, and the Province of Prince Edward Island, as well as private collections in Canada and the US.

She lives in Halifax.
