Susan Feindel

was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and graduated in painting from Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick, in 1966. After travelling the world she settled in Ottawa in 1973, subsequently moving to Nova Scotia, where she lives in Dartmouth. Her work is represented by St. Laurent&+Hill, Ottawa, and Studio 21, Halifax.

Feindel’s numerous exhibitions include major solos organized by the Art Gallery of Ottawa (Figura, touring, 1998-2000) and Dalhousie Art Gallery (Scan, 2005). Since 2000 she has participated as the resident artist on oceanographic cruises conducted on Canadian Coast Guard vessels and those of the National Marine Institute of Norway. She has been supported by grants from Nova Scotia Tourism, Culture and Heritage; the Ontario Arts Council; the Winnipeg Arts Council; and the Canada Council. Apart from private collections, her work is represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada and the Region of Ottawa-Carleton.
