Recent pharmaceutical ads have muddied the legal waters. In Canada, it is illegal to advertise prescription drugs to the public. Drug campaigns promoting Alesse, Diane, Zyban, and Viagra are challenging Canada’s Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act. Recently Canada’s Minister of Health at the time of this exhibition, Allan Rock, said he considers some of these ads legal.

We disagree. ad/vice, created by the MSVU Art Gallery and the Nancy’s Chair in Women’s Studies, explodes the ads and explores the questions they raise through an exhibition and a zine-style publication.
